Why I’m Supporting CNIB
Did you know that every minute, three Canadians turn to CNIB for support, advice and information? Or that CNIB has been Canada’s primary source of support for people who are blind or partially sighted? CNIB works to support thousands of Canadians who are blind or partially sighted each and every day, with personalized services including orientation and mobility, library services, emotional support, computer training and more.
For these reasons, I’m taking part in this Fundraise for Us event to help raise funds for CNIB. Please make a donation to my page and help us help CNIB and Canadians in our community see beyond vision loss.
About the CNIB Guide Dog Program
For many people who are blind, a guide dog provides an unparalleled level of mobility, freedom and confidence. CNIB believes everyone who aspires to use a guide dog as a mobility aid should have the opportunity to do so.
The CNIB Guide Dog Program has been designed to provide the range of choices, services and opportunities Canadians with sight loss want, with the ultimate goal of increasing the number of available Canadian-trained dogs.
Finances should never be a barrier to someone having a guide dog. Participants in the CNIB Guide Dog Program will not pay for their dog, the training or follow-up support. All program costs will be covered through charitable donations.
