Do you want to have fun, make a difference and help individuals living with sight loss in your community? As part of an enthusiastic and dedicated team, our volunteers ensures participants enjoy the walk under the stars. You can volunteer with your friends or make some new ones!

We need volunteers to help with setting-up, running kids’ activities such as face painting and crafts, parking, security, registration, cheering on walkers, and more.

Most of the shifts will start in the afternoon and go until 9 p.m. We’ll also need volunteers for an earlier shift, too (the exact times will depend on which community you volunteer in). Prior to the event, we’ll need volunteers to help with event promotion and logistics.

As a volunteer, you’ll get an orientation to CNIB, training on the job and a t-shirt. After the event, we would be happy to provide a letter confirming your volunteer hours, if you need one.

It’s easy to register! Please note: volunteers must be at least 14 years of age.

Need to know more before you sign-up? No problem! Contact us at; we’d love to hear from you!

Thank you for your interest – CNIB volunteers make a difference!

Your Night Steps Team

Guess who’s having a birthday? Come celebrate a century of change with us at CNIB Night Steps – a fun and easy fundraising walk under the stars. Bring your family and friends for a glow-in-the-dark celebration and help CNIB brighten the night. Your fundraising efforts will provide life-changing support for people with sight loss right here in our community.

CNIB has created a Foundation, that is entirely dependent on charitable funding, to provide programs and services that complement and enhance our rehab services. These programs address the social and emotional needs of people dealing with sight loss. CNIB's programs focus on children and youth, as well as adults of working age and seniors, building their confidence and self-advocacy skills to ensure they receive the accommodations they need to succeed.

Taking part in CNIB Night Steps is easy! Register as a team or an individual, and we’ll give you the tools to make fundraising simple and fun! We’re asking each participant to raise at least $100 in honour of our 100th birthday. If walking isn’t for you, pledge a walker or volunteer in your community.
