Why We Walk
Did you know that every minute, three Canadians turn to CNIB for support, advice, and information? For the last century, CNIB has been Canada’s primary source of support for people who are blind or partially sighted.
This includes me. I live with a degenerative eye condition called Retinitis Pigmentosa. This eye condition results in night blindness and tunnel vision and progressively gets worse. I've been a part of CNIB's community all my life. As a child, I got to attend Lake Joe, a camp for children with sight loss. When I was losing my vision after moving to downtown Toronto, I learned how to navigate a new city with the help of CNIB's Orientation & Mobility specialists. Now, as an employee of CNIB, I get to give back to the community.
