Why We Walk

We are walking to support our friend, Ryan Hooey, who is the son of our CUPE 82 retiree Brother.  In 2012, Ryan lost his sight at the age of 27 and CNIB has provided him with life changing support in order to live an independent and successful life.  Ryan is not only a client but also holds a new position with CNIB as the Program Lead for Advocacy & Accessible Communities.

Your donation will stay in Windsor-Essex, where we can help provide Ryan and CNIB with funds to bring new technology and programs to make Windsor accessible to the blind and low vision community.

Did you know that every minute, three Canadians turn to CNIB for support, advice and information? Or that CNIB has been Canada’s primary source of support for people who are blind or partially sighted? CNIB works to support thousands of Canadians who are blind or partially sighted each and every day, with personalized services including orientation and mobility, library services, emotional support, computer training and more.

Please support us by making a donation to one of our team members and help us help CNIB and people in our community see beyond vision loss.

Or why not join our team and help us have an even bigger impact on the lives of those who are blind or partially sighted.

Your support of CNIB Night Steps Walk through sponsorship, participant or pledge would be greatly appreciated. No gift is too big or too small!
