Why I Walk
My name is Alicia and I am 20 years old. When I was 8 months old I was diagnosed with a brain tumour that left me visually impaired. Ever since then I have been a client of CNIB. It’s my passion in life to raise awareness about Vision Loss and about CNIB.
Through CNIB I have been able to access a variety of services to help me be independent and learn how to live life with vision loss. One of the main services I use is Orientation & Mobility. Through that I have learnt how to safely navigate around my school and my city.
CNIB has also allowed me to meet and get to know others who have experienced sight loss and who have similar experiences as me. Thanks to CNIB I have been fortunate enough to participate in programs such as National SCORE Program and have been able to go to Lake Joe.
It's for these reasons, I’m participating in Night Steps 2019! Please donate to my page and help individuals in our community see beyond sight loss.
