Matt's Astronomical Walk at Night Steps
I’m participating in Night Steps on September 15 to help raise funds for the CNIB. The CNIB works to support thousands of Canadians who are blind or partially sighted each and every day, with personalized services including orientation and mobility, library services, emotional support, computer training and more.
Before the walk, I'm organizing a tactile-audio astronomy booth to help people with vision loss experience the wonders of the universe. We'll have tactile images, 3D printed models, and wood carvings of astronomical objects and each will be accompanied by an audio or musical representation. There will be a team of volunteers from the Canadian Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics and the Dunlap Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics to facilitate and to answer any astronomy-related questions.
Please make a donation to my page to help CNIB help Canadians see beyond vision loss.
