Why I Walk
My father, Dennis Kenney, lost most of his vision due to a stroke just after he turned 80. Despite his vision loss, his determination and positive attitude allowed him to remain in his home until he passed away in 2018. He received support from CNIB at the beginning of his vision loss journey. The visual aid and advice from CNIB employees helped him maintain his independence. In his memory, his children and their families are raising funds to help others that CNIB support.
Did you know that every minute, three Canadians turn to CNIB for support, advice and information? Or that CNIB has been Canada’s primary source of support for people who are blind or partially sighted for 100 years? CNIB works to support thousands of Canadians who are blind or partially sighted each and every day, with personalized services including orientation and mobility, library services, emotional support, computer training and more.
For these reasons, I’m participating in Night Steps to help raise funds for CNIB. Please make a donation to my page and help CNIB and Canadians in our community see beyond vision loss.
